Lakes
Lake Carezza
Whoever stands at the bank of this mountain lake which bore so many legends in the past, attracted so many painters and famous writers does, will not leave soon. The Lake Carezza is called the "Lec de ergobando" ("Rainbow lake"), the most beautiful of the many alpine lakes because of its magnificent colours; in the morning, the Latemar mountain is reflected, while in the evening the Rosengarten mountain with its alp-glow is visible on its shimmering surface. The lake stands 1520 m above sea level, is 287 m long and 137 m wide and, in the summer when it is not frozen, 22 m deep.
