Winter hiking trail: The Taufen route A walk through the thick winter forests; Taufen is an archaic word indicating the variety of timber taken from this forest to make wine barrels. Route: village centre (1,208 m a.s.l.) - via San Valentino - turn right just before the Schönwald guesthouse on to the via Samer, path n. 2F. Walk down the forest road for approximately 1 km and turn left on to the Taufen path no. 2A to Obergummer -Zipperle and Lärchenwald guesthouses - (1,360 m a.s.l.). Return to paths no. 0 and 2B to the Pardeller mountain farm (1,558 m a.s.l.) and down to Nova Levante.
